‘The Beauty of Interconnected Natural Resource Ecosystems’ Lecture

Attend a hybrid presentation by MinSouth and Women in Mining UK, featuring Dr. Sarah Gordon of Satarla. She’ll discuss the interconnectedness of natural resource ecosystems. For in-person attendees, the venue is the IoM3 office on Euston Road, London.
In this lecture, we will delve into the opportunities that arise when we consider an ecosystem in its entirety, including not just physical resources like minerals and vegetation, but also the role of people within these ecosystems. We’ll discuss how differences in terminology and understanding across disciplines can lead to misunderstandings and offer tips for improving collaboration. We’ll also explore how the energy transition can serve as a catalyst for rethinking how we visualize and value our surroundings, including rocks, soils, flora, fauna, and people. This perspective is not just fascinating, but fundamental to our future.
Dr Sarah Gordon is co-founder and CEO of Satarla sustainability and risk management. She is also co-founder of the not-for-profit Responsible Raw Materials and production company Critical Productions. Having started her career as an exploration geologist before moving into risk management and sustainability, Sarah has always been passionate about ensuring that we make sustainability a reality.
Sarah is a Board member of WIM UK. She is also a member of the UK Government Expert Committee on Raw Materials, a Trustee of Geology for Global Development, and an Industry Advisor to iCRAG.
