The Iron Cycle – Fe 150

March 20, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

IOM3 is celebrating the 150 year anniversary of its foundation through the Iron and Steel Society. These events and activities are being described and updated through the 150th anniversary microsite and in Materials World magazine.

The Resources* Divisions are contributing to the anniversary, which includes arranging a one-day conference “The Iron Cycle – Fe 150” which will be held at the Institute’s London HQ, 297 Euston Road. The theme is “150 years of extracting, processing & recycling the material that built the modern world”.

By the very nature and versatility of steel, there will be much overlap in the presentations and the conference will provide a great forum for increasing attendees’ knowledge of the discovery, extraction, application and recycling of iron and steel in the modern era, in fact the entire iron cycle.

The conference is aimed at all those involved in the exploration, extraction, processing and utilisation of iron, steel and its alloys from the early days to current times. This embraces engineers, academics, students and industrialists in almost every field of life.

See the event page on the IOM3 website at the address below for full details and registration.
